Police investigate shooting outside of Schenectady party

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Schenectady Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place outside of a party at 2525 Broadway on Sunday around 4:20 a.m. Sunday. Police arrested Dione Kowalchyk (25, Watervliet) in connection to the shooting. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Police responded to the area of 2525 Broadway in Schenectady for reports of shots fired. After arriving, police say they found multiple shell casings in the street and a large crowd was clearing the area from a party inside. Police say a car was found in the area and two occupants appeared to be unconscious. After waking them up, officers found a handgun inside the car and they were both detained. The Santa Cruz Warriors selected 6-foot-3 guard Marcus Burk and 6-9 forward Arinze Chidom in the 2023 NBA G League draft on Saturday.Burk was chosen with the 16th overall pick. A former standout at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), he appeared in 46 games, 30 of which were starts, with the Grand Rapids Gold from 2021-23. A U-Haul truck filled with boxes of marijuana crashed into the gates of the Sierra Madre Fire Department’s headquarters after the driver got shot in the arm — prompting his arrest and that of his passenger, authorities said.The truck was carrying an estimated 1,000 to 2,000 pounds of marijuana, sheriff’s Lt.
